Jobs are the individual events or projects to be accomplished. There are four types of jobs: Normal, Appointment / Event, Due, and Schedule.
• At any time, each job has a Virtual Priority assigned by Do It All! based on the job's type and characteristics. The virtual priorities of most jobs change with time.
• Each job also has a “status.” Possible statuses are Current, Postponed, and Done. You will mainly be dealing with Current jobs. You do not have to deal with non-Current jobs. You can just 'Cut' a job when you do not want to see it around ever again. You can use the Joblist menu to send jobs to a different place (e.g. select some jobs and then choose from the menu the item “Move to Postponed”). Command-D is called “Mark Done”. That is EXACTLY THE SAME as “Move jobs to Done” except for Schedule jobs. For schedule jobs, Mark Done marks the job done for TODAY ONLY. That way, if the top 7 things in your job list are two 'Due' jobs, 3 'Appointments', and 2 'Schedule' jobs, you can just use Command-D to move all of the jobs to “Done” except mark your [regularly-occuring] Schedule jobs done for today so that they will not appear at the top of your joblist. You will probably want to use this command often, since this is the usual algorithm for eliminating jobs from your Current joblist. To actually move a Schedule job to the collection of “Done” jobs, use the menu item “Move to Done”
• Different types of jobs have different properties like time and date associated with them. The priorities are displayed as either a number from 1 to TOP, with the latter denoting the most important jobs. Also, the abbreviation TDY (for TODAY) is used to denote an appointment/event for today. The word Past is used to denote an event which has already occurred and may be deleted/Made Done. Events that are in the future are displayed with a blank priority, meaning a virtual priority of zero.
•• You should consider the Virtual Priority the IMPORTANCE of a job.
•• If something is rated more “urgent” than another, do it before
